30 Days of Christmas Cheer {Day 7}: Holiday Movies for a Very Entertaining Season

30 Days of Christmas Cheer Holiday Movies

“The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”~ Buddy, from The Elf

Holiday movies, like The Elf, have been a part of our family’s Christmas traditions for ages now. Ever since Finlee was a baby, we’ve snuggled up together and watched Christmas movies.

Now with both Finlee and Chloe growing older, our must-watch Christmas movie list keeps getting longer!!

Our Christmas Cheer challenge for today is making your family’s list of Christmas movies to watch and start your own fun and entertaining tradition as well!

Creating Childhood Memories and Traditions Activity

Watching Christmas movies as a family is a fun tradition to enjoy during the holidays. Finlee and Chloe look forward to this tradition every single year. It’s so easy-to-do as well!

Our tradition is to watch these movies every Friday or Saturday night all through December. Sometimes, I admit, we start in November too!!

We make popcorn, the kids grab some lollies, blankets and pillows and we all cuddle together and enjoy these sweet, festive flicks together.

The best part is that they’re great for sparking conversations too and we generally talk about the movie before we watch it and then, casually discuss it and recall special or sweet moments from it after.

You can pair your family holiday movie nights with pizza, cookies and create a tradition that’ll delight your family for years to come.

Our top 10 holiday movie list includes:

Another awesome non-Christmassy but totally fun for the season outdoor activity to do with the kids is make a mud kitchen!

It’s a great way for kids to enjoy the outdoors, get messy and yet creative and have a blast using their imagination to make mudpies and more!! Check out my post on how we made a mud kitchen for Finlee and Chloe.
