30 Days of Christmas Cheer {Day 9}: Setting Up the Christmas Tree

30 Days of Christmas Cheer Setting up the Tree

“Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all thirty feet tall.” — Larry Wilde

There are a bunch of Christmas activities that seem like a given and that pretty much every family does and while they can seem routine and what you do every holiday season, it is possible to turn these activities into delightful and fun traditions that are filled with memories.

Today’s Christmas Cheer challenge is one such activity – Setting up the Tree.

Creating Childhood Memories and Traditions Activity

Setting up the Christmas Tree can be a wonderful time of togetherness, love and laughter.

To turn this “routine” Christmas activity into a family tradition, all you need to do is pick a day when you’ll set up the tree and stick to it year after year.

Soon, it will be a day when everyone would be excited and anticipate putting the tree up, getting the decorations out, choosing where to put what and have tons of fun in the process.

At our home, for instance, we set up the tree on the first Saturday of December. In many other families, I know, the tree goes up on the 1st of December. It doesn’t matter what day you choose, just pick and day and name it your family’s Christmas Tree Setting Up day!

Have some coffee or cocoa {or red wine!} while you put up the decorations, string the lights and the popcorn garlands around and sing along to Christmas music as well.

You can tell the kids the Christmas Tree story, if you’d like or share memories of your own Christmases as a child as you decorate your family’s tree.

A tradition, filled with memories, love and laughter. Made simple and effortless.
