Birthday parties are one of my favorite childhood memories growing up and are something that I might be quietly obsessed about when it comes to putting on birthday parties for Finlee and Chloe. It all starts with the birthday invites, to creating the guest list, to planning the food and the party bags that make me want to start dancing. However, it’s the stories after the birthday party that Finlee and Chloe take away, the revisiting of photos and of course the creation of many childhood memories that truly melts my heart, so you can only imagine how excited I was when Finlee had suggested going to the amazing kids birthday party venue other wise called Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park at MacGregor for his birthday.
Birthday Parties at Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park
This year the thought of holding Finlee’s 6th birthday party at home simply wasn’t practical; especially with over a dozen six-year old boys/girls attending who love to run, be free and make more noise than what my neighbors’ would care to tolerate. So the thought of having Finlee’s birthday party at Sky Zone was becoming more and more appealing by the minute especially with hundreds of trampolines, connected to form a single massive trampoline that literally allows you to jump off the walls. Not to mention every 6 year old dream of participate in a 3 level laser tag competition.
I contacted Sky Zone’s head office and was able to complete my entire booking in just 4 simple steps.

The Big Day – Finlee’s Birthday Party
Being woken up, by the bouncing 6 year old himself, at 5am was the true indication of how excited Finlee was for his birthday party (and only 5.5 hours to go until kick off; ha ha ha).
Over the years birthday day has been beyond stressful for me. I’ve either been running around decorating the house, making the birthday cakes, preparing food, dealing with the rain (for the years it’s been at the park), loading the car up, getting ice and the list goes on and on. However… not this year my friends!!! I was actually able to shower, get dressed (at a leisurely pace) and then we drove to Sky Zone (even went the speed limit) and arrived the venue with 15 minutes to spare.
The moment we arrived absolutely everything was taken care of. I was greeted by an energetic, professional and friendly employee by the name of Jaxon who would be our party host for the day. Jaxon assisted with getting everyone’s wrist bands on, grip socks on, contained both the kids/adults, gave everyone the safety brief and did all of this by remaining calm, collective and smiling.
Laser Tag at Sky Zone Macgregor
The kids could hardly control their excitement when they realised laser tag was first up. This part of Sky Zone allows the kids to get lost in 3 different layers of laser tag craziness. But before the kids were able to run wild, dodge lasers and create memories Jaxon briefed the kids as to what was about to happen, discussed safety and suited them all up. Let the fun begin.
Trampoline Extravaganza at Sky Zone
The next part of the birthday was going to be an hour of fun jumping on over 100+ different trampolines!! This was the main reason for choosing Sky Zone to host Finlee’s party because it allowed an opportunity for both kids and parents to experience a) fun but b) exercise while having fun. I feel this is a win-win combination especially when we’re faced with an increase in childhood obesity and the take over of everything electronic. With safety grip socks on (these special socks have a grip on the bottom especially for jumping and are mandatory to wear), safety brief about the rules (1 child per trampoline, no running etc) this active group of kids were ready to rock and roll.
Let’s Eat
After an 1.5 hours of physical activity this crew was ready to eat. With 30 minutes for our very own function room, we were able to retreat to a quiet area to allow the kids some down time and to have some lunch and cupcakes. I specifically would like to point out that Sky Zone offered a healthy food option vs just fast food type options as I see at so many other party venues (I only point this out because as a parent I like having the option of healthy food even though I would love to dunk my head in some pizza)!!
Safety at Sky Zone
As a parent I worry ALL the time, especially when it comes to safety issues. The one thing I noticed was that before we did any activity Jaxon would brief the kids on what they were about to participate in, but more importantly he would explain the safety side of things and in simple 6 year old language. If at anytime during our party the kids forgot the rules, Jaxon reminded them immediately about the safety. In addition to Jaxon watching our specfic group of kids, I also noticed that there were Sky Zone staff at each of the trampoline stations in order to ensure the children were safe at all times.
Another Birthday Done and Dusted
Even though I didn’t host the party this year, or make the food myself Sky Zone Macgregor did equally if not a better job than any other year. In a year where I’m juggling full time work, running Finlee and Me Australia’s leading online baby/toddler/kids/mum store, trying to balance the role of school mum, on top of mum in general and let’s not forget the role of wife… this was easy. It was new. It was exciting. But more of all, it created another layer of birthday childhood memories for Finlee and for that I am grateful.
