Homemade Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips

There is nothing better then biting into a freshly picked apple… ok maybe I’m lying I would much prefer biting into  homemade baked cinnamon apple chips because I love anything sweet. And if you’re looking to add something new to the lunch box menu this is sure to be a hit with any little one.

Healthy, Cheap, Easy, and Addicting Homemade Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips

These Homemade Baked Cinnamon Apple Chips tick all the boxes for our family. For starters, I love making homemade not only because I know exactly what is going into the kids lunch box, but more importantly it assists in reducing our grocery budget for the week.

Ingredients:

  • 3 apples (I use the lovely green Granny Smith apples, but you can also use Pink Lady, or any apple that your kids love)
  • 1/2 – 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 X Finlee & Me Twisted Apple – Peeler, Corer and Slicer or a very sharp knife to cut apple into line slices

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 100C.

Step 2: Line one large baking sheet with baking paper or silicone baking mats. Set aside.

Step 3: Wash and then thinly slice the apples by using the Finlee & Me Twisted Apple – Peeler, Corer and Slicer as shown in the photos below.

Step 4: Spread the apple slices onto the baking pans making just 1 single layer.

Step 5: Combine cinnamon and sugar and mix until combined.

Step 6: Sprinkle apples with cinnamon and sugar.

Step 7: Bake for 1 hour, flip the apples over, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture and if any juice is on the tray simply soak up with paper towel.

Step 8: Continue baking for another 1.5-2 hours.

Step 9: Turn the oven off, but keep the apples inside as the oven cools down for 1 hour. By keeping the apples in the oven it will assisting in making them that little bit more crunchy.

Step 10: Store your homemade baked cinnamon apple chips at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
