Motherhood – Somedays You Just Have to STOP and Inhale a Can of Whipcream.

motherhood

Let me give you the hot tip, today went a little something like this…

At around 1:30pm I was full. Full of yelling, full of fighting and full of refereeing the kids. So I made an executive decision to sit my ass on the couch, inhaled an entire can of whip cream and decided I would be parenting from the couch for at least an hour.

Why you might ask?

Because I swear I’ve been refereeing Finlee (6 year old) and Chloe (3 year old) all day. Such and such looked at me the wrong way. Such and such farted. Such and such touched me.

My calm voice and patience were gone. I needed a moment to inhale whip cream from a can and for Finlee and Chloe to have a moment too. I needed to pull myself together and calm the hell down. Motherhood is a crazy ride somedays.

After I had a moment, licked the sweetness of whip cream off my lips and brought my heart rate down I was ready to “mother again.”

I was also able to sit with the kids. Talk to them calmly. Explore with them how we could work together better and how we’re family.

I cuddled them…

I kissed them…

And I let them know how much I loved them.

I also reminded myself… I’m a good Mother despite my crazy.

For all the other Mothers or Dads out there struggling, you got this.

Oh and what’s your turn to food? Chocolate? Wine? Whip cream?

Love to all,
Angela xx
