Valentine’s Day is More Than Just Flowers.

Why is there such a huge push for Valentine’s Day to be this end all, be all kinda day? A day where there is so much pressure put onto husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, partners and not to mention those that may not have a significant other. Pressure. So much pressure. Today I wanted to write a quick blog post to let you all know that Valentine’s Day is More Than Just Flowers.

Valentine’s Day

You see, Valentine’s Day is my birthday, but also my wedding anniversary and of course it’s Valentine’s Day, so it holds a special place in my heart. Regardless of these 3 important elements, Valentine’s Day is so much more to me.

Valentine’s Day is the day of love. My love for the giggles that I hear from my kids. The love that I have from my friends and family that are there for me every single day, but I don’t take the time to acknowledge their love as often as I should. The love that I live in a country where I’m fortunate enough to have running water, a roof over my head and food in my belly. The sweet love that surrounds me in the mornings when I wake up aka the birds singing vs bombs going off over my head. The love I get when I dunk my head into a Nutella jar. This is love.

Valentine’s Day is More Than Just Flowers

The world is going a million miles, but we need to stop. Literally… just stop. Take the next minute and think about the love in your life and what this looks like. After that minute, take 5 minutes and send a message to a loved one to let them know you’re thinking of them. Let them know you love them.

This blog might be slightly cheesy, but it’s important to remember what love means to you.

Valentine’s Day my friends is more than just flowers.

Love always,

Angela from Finlee and Me

xoxo
