30 Days 30 Ways for MothersTake Care of Yourself day 20

“We have stay-in date nights where we make a plan to watch certain TV shows together. ‘Survivor,’ for example, is our favorite show. And I make a healthy dinner and we sit down and it’s our date. I love it.” Alison Sweeney

Are you wondering why are we talking date night ideas for couples when self-care should be about you?

Hear me out.

I want you to think about this.

Are you really connected with your partner? Are you missing having dinner with each other, or even a conversation that isn’t interrupted by one of the kids or a gadget?

So many of us really miss our partners even though we live with them.

So I encourage you to arrange a date night this week as it’ll help with your self care.

Date nights will make your heart skip a beat, remind yourself why you fell in love and not to mention, I read a quote a few weeks ago and it was said “Date night is cheaper than a divorce.”

So true, but yet we don’t do it.

Arrange a date night, you can thank me later.

Take Care of Yourself with Ease

Your effortless self-care idea for today is to schedule a date night. Now before you start freaking out that you have to spend a lot of money, hire a sitter or juggle a lot of scheduling… press pause and breathe.

Date night ideas for couples don’t have to be complicated or stressful. They should be the exact opposite.

You can easily combine a few of the self-care ideas from this challenge itself and whip up a date night, you’ll be floored by.

For instance, soak in the bath {Day 13}, get your hair done {Day 18}, wear your best dress {Day 17} and ta-dah, you’re all set for your date night, and you’ve knocked your challenge activities outta the park as well!

Also, remember if your budget or your life’s season doesn’t allow you to get out of the house for a date night, you can totally do what Ms. Sweeney does {See quote above!} and have a delightful date right at home.

Watch a TV series the two of you enjoy, make a wholesome homemade meal, have a glass or two of wine, listen to music and enjoy each other’s company.
